Global health is inextricably linked with economic growth and development. CGD seeks to offer policy solutions to a wide range of global health challenges, from financing health systems to fighting infectious and chronic disease burdens to increasing access to prevention, treatment, and care services. The Center aims to improve the effectiveness of policies and actions of donors, and to enhance their coordination with the private sector, in order to bolster public health worldwide. CGD works to change the policies and practices of rich countries and powerful institutions to reduce global poverty and inequality. Thus, world class scholars use independent, rigorous research to develop new knowledge and practical solutions. Through creative communications and outreach, CGD engages with policymakers, practitioners, thought leaders, media and citizens to turn ideas into action.
