The College has seven departments, one being the Department of Public Health. Research areas focus on: communicable diseases; health care services; non-communicable diseases; and environmental and occupational diseases. Community services encompass health and demographic surveillance, STI/HIV/ART program, in-service health training and model pharmacy. The University hosts the East African journal of Health Sciences.
