UTokyo was the first Japanese university to offer MOOCs with courses on the Coursera and edX platforms. As of April 2021, UTokyo has 19 courses available (nine via Coursera and ten via edX). As a leading research university, UTokyo offers courses in essentially all academic disciplines at both undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research across the full spectrum of academic activity.
