Relief International is the product of mergers and alliances of organizations. The charity works in 16 countries across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East to meet the ever-changing needs of populations in vulnerable situations. The program areas of intervention include: health and nutrition; water, sanitation and hygiene, life-saving care; economic empowerment and education. Relief International rebuilds health systems in war-ravaged countries. Its mobile medical units provide care to communities completely cut off from services, and its hospitals in besieged cities treat mass injuries and offer trauma counseling. In areas facing drought, the healthcare facilities of Relief International screen children for malnutrition and treat waterborne disease spread by lack of access to clean water sources.
